Storm King + Dia: Beacon

There are a number of day trips from NYC, just a quick train, bus or drive away. If you feel the need to get some fresh air and wander around in great big open spaces with magnificent art to gaze at for some inspiration.

Dia:Beacon

Take the train from Grand Central station up the Hudson Valley to Beacon. It’s way up there so plan to enjoy a full day trip or possibly a weekend if you want to enjoy some more time in this pretty part of NY.

Storm King Art Center

There are buses that depart regularly for Storm King from Port Authority, the trip is about an hour, and a lovely excuse to wander around outdoors and take some time with the giant sculptures that loom about the grounds.
