Carrie A. Mitchell is an American-Canadian entrepreneur, storyteller, and award-winning media and communications leader. With over 20 years of experience in developing brands, campaigns, and creative stories, she founded CMMedia - a global communications, content, and media production company - collaborating with a diverse portfolio of clients. Carrie also connects creatives and brands internationally, and bridges business in the United States, Canada, and Europe, having traveled extensively and spent chapters in New York City, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and London.
Carrie’s leadership roles include Founder of CMMedia and Co-Founder of The Age Box + Age Box Ventures, previous Co-founder at Sonder Communications, Senior Director of Communications for the Four Seasons Hotels UK Collection, Director of Public Relations & Communications at Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel, Board of Directors at Rodeo Drive, Head of Communications at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, and Director of Marketing at Strategic Hospitality Group. As a multimedia storyteller, Carrie covers travel, lifestyle, culture, and media as a writer, author, and creator. She has appeared on syndicated tv and radio news segments, hosts The Age Box podcast, previously the Travel Oracles podcast, and her writing has appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Vogue, The New Yorker, CNN, BBC, Skift, Forbes, and more. She also wrote a children’s travel book dedicated to her niece & nephew titled “To Be We: The Adventures of Owen and Lucy”, and anticipates her debut novel to publish in 2025. From her first internship at Seventeen Magazine, to the many collaborations over the years, media and content creation have always been a significant part of her career.
Carrie holds degrees from the University of British Columbia, along with additional certifications from other leading educational institutions, and is pursuing further education to expand into media and social psychology research, studying the impact of media + technology on mental health and human behavior. Carrie is passionate about connecting people, places and purpose, and championing women, which is fundamental to her work, entrepreneurial projects, writing, and mentoring.
