Bali, Indonesia

It’s been far too long since my lengthly trip to Bali (pre “Eat Pray Love” too I might add ;), and it seemed like a good time to revisit my experience. Bali is a unique (largely) Hindu island, within the Muslim country of Indonesia (It’s one of 17,500 islands in the Indonesian archipelago), and it operates as it’s own paradise, with infinite wisdom and beauty. Its long been a popular destination for Australians nearby, and now draws people far and wide for yoga and meditation retreats. It boasts forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches, coral reefs, and stunning religious sites such as cliffside Uluwatu Temple. To the south, the beachside city of Kuta has lively bars, while Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua are popular resort towns. It’s hard to explain, but there is a wonderful smell in the air, and way of the people, that put you instantly at ease.
