Hello! My name is Carrie A. Mitchell and I am a writer, producer, host and communications strategist. My editorial and multimedia collaborations have included:  New York Magazine, Huffington Post, Hello Giggles, Vogue, The New Yorker, Destination Candada, Discover America, French Connection, BlackBook Magazine, Haute Living Magazine, and Sloane Magazine. I also work on script & content development (long/short form projects), and wrote a children’s book dedicated to my niece & nephew titled “To Be We: The Adventures of Owen and Lucy” to introduce concepts of travel and culture to preschool kids.

In 2017, I co-created L’Aventure Travel Media to share female-driven conversations on global travel and culture through podcasts (I currently host the podcast “Suitcase Sojourn“). I have the pleasure of producing its content, in addition to the years I was a commercial line producer, a news & documentary field producer, and a photography producer, working in locations around the world (Canada, USA, China, Cuba, UK, France & more).

My corporate career includes over 15 years of experience as an integrated communications strategist, working with leading media, entertainment, editorial, and hospitality brands, creating original creative content, innovative social media & communications campaigns, brand marketing strategies and partnerships. In 2016, I founded Sonder Communications: a creative content & digital communications shop, to elevate brand stories and develop original content.

My portfolio includes work with Condé Nast, Hearst, The New Yorker, Forbes, Strategic Hospitality Group, Wolfgang Puck, Moët Hennessy, Tiffany & Co, Nicole Miller, Destination Canada, Discover America, Marriott Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels, and Rodeo Drive, where I served on the Board of Directors.

Raised between Alberta and Colorado, I moved to New York City in 2000 after graduating from the University of British Columbia for an internship at Seventeen Magazine. Travel and culture are the predominant focus of my work & writing, and while I have travelled to over 40 countries, and spent time residing in Vancouver, Shanghai and Paris for various projects, I divide my time between New York City + Los Angeles.
